Our Story
Hey there! We are Destinee and Alex. As husband and wife, we are more than business partners, we are a team in the truest sense. Alex is an engineer, and Destinee is an all-around creative spirit. Together, we love creating custom gifts, homewares and wedding decor that combines beauty and functionality. We offer a wide range of products in our shop and often spend our evenings brainstorming, planning and creating new products while watching our favorite TV shows and spending time with our pups.
How we started
Our story began with a simple idea for 3D printed jewelry. Destinee wanted statement earrings that were lightweight, and Alex being the good boyfriend (at the time) accepted the challenge. With his engineering prowess and at-home 3D printer, he created a few earrings.
Fast forward to fall 2020 when we decided to use 3D printing to make custom decor for our wedding in the Smoky Mountains. Our decor received admiration and became the catalyst for our next adventure. We officially launched Corduroy Effect in December 2020, two months after our wedding.
How we work
We work together on almost every aspect of the company. From product design to packaging, we leverage each other's unique perspective and creativity to create the best products and customer experience we can. All of our products are designed and printed in our Knoxville, Tennessee workshop, and we ship throughout the US and Canada.
